Young people committed to raising funds to provide lunch for underprivileged students

At Cité étudiante de Roberval, the start of the sale of frozen treats at lunchtime and during recess not only kicks off the spring season, but also an initiative that’s sure to please. Every ice cream cone and cup sold is both a treat for some, and extra funds to buy lunch for a student who would otherwise have to go through the day on an empty stomach. The Foundation owes its initial idea to Keven Duchesne, a student in the personalized education program. All staff members, management, students and local organizations have followed suit. Over the past two years, $800 has been donated to the Fondation de la Cité étudiante thanks to this project. As a result, no fewer than 160 dinners have been offered to less fortunate young people. An initiative that allows young people to sweeten their beaks while offering their companions the chance to eat their fill? It’s a tasty idea!
